Irene Castillo, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered her eternal rest on December 8, 2025, in Edinburg, Texas, at the age of 62. Born on August 11, 1963, in Donna, Irene lived a life rooted in love, faith, and unwavering kindness. She never met a stranger—her warmth and compassion naturally drew people in, and her generous spirit left an imprint on everyone she encountered.
A devoted and Godly woman, Irene served faithfully throughout her life, always guided by grace and a heart for others. She was a dedicated and successful operations manager, known for her strong work ethic, leadership, and ability to uplift those she worked with. Outside of her professional accomplishments, Irene found joy in the outdoors—gardening in the sunshine, tending to her plants with care, and building birdhouses that brought beauty and life to her surroundings.
Her greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Margarito Castillo, with whom she shared a life filled with devotion, laughter, and deep companionship. Irene is also survived by her sons David Castillo and Gabriel Castillo, and her stepson Marky Castillo, all of whom she loved unconditionally. Being their mother and stepmother was the calling she cherished most, and she poured her heart into raising and guiding them.
Irene is further survived by her siblings: Luisa (Rosendo), Jose Luis (Elma), Armando (Veronica), Jesus, and Lupita, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who adored their Tía Irene. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosalio and Nieves Castrellon, and her sisters Elena and Sylvia, with whom she now reunites in eternal peace.
Irene was an incredible wife, a nurturing mother and grandmother, a loyal sister, and a treasured friend. Her caring nature, bright spirit, and unwavering faith made her a light in the lives of many. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will forever remain a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
May she rest in God’s everlasting peace.
