So many memories of riding in the cotton picker and combine with him.  I remember waiting with dad at the end of the rows to get on with him.  Such a patient man.     

On the day of our wedding he told me. I give my most prized possession, take care of her you don't know how much she means to me. I have and will continue to honor my promise to you. Thank you for letting me part of your family it has and is the best decision I have ever made. You are the greatest father-in-law a man could ask for.

Abuelo was an amazing man who I never had a bad memory of. He was always nice and funny. Just recently, I saw him and he was all smiles and jokes. He was genuinely happy and I loved that about him. It’s what I’ll always remember of him. 

Honestly, I don’t know where to begin. I don’t believe there’s even an appropriate way to describe how much Grandpa Pepe meant to our family. In my opinion, I don’t believe this wonderful man can be described accurately in such few words. But, I will say, he was, and will continue to be, our family’s pillar of strength. He’s the glue that holds this crazy, incredible family together. As one of his many great grandchildren, I share many of my memories of him with my cousins. I’m glad that we can reminisce and grieve together in our shared experiences. Holidays and family gatherings will never be the same. I can speak for everyone when I say we’re going to miss you terribly, but you’re with God now. I love you, Grandpa Pepe. ❤️

Iam the grand child of Jose San Roman son of Mario San Roman my name is Mario San Roman Jr and my son name is Mario San Roman 3rd, it amazes me how much life one man can bring to this world. He was fallowed by many grandchildren and great grand children. He’s legacy will live on through us, a man with few words but hard working and great tenacity it’s safe to say they don’t make men like him anymore. God will have a great gift, a man with true grit at his doors. I thank my grandfather for showing me and I can only hope to be such a great man.

I’m one of Welo’s many grandchildren. The daughter of Mando and Celia  San Roman. This week I have spent a lot of time searching through photos and memories. I’m trying to remember moments I had with my grandpa. And sadly, the photos and memories are few and far between.  In my younger years, I visited his house at the rancho and as I grew up I visited other houses and apartments he shared with Wela. I saw him and Wela at family gatherings. Time moves forward and things happen, family gatherings become less frequent and I move away. I was embarrassed to speak Spanish. So many reasons and excuses as to why our relationship was not as strong. But I do remember a few things. His smile, his kindness, his little laugh and the random silly comments he’d make. I never really knew if he’d make the joke on purpose or for some reason I just thought it was funny. Haha the mark of a good comedian. I also remember his love of sweets. (We have that in common) Now I get to learn more about Welo through the rest of the family and their memories and I’m sorry I didn’t make that effort on my own while he was still here. Te quiero mucho, Welo. Y se que ya estas descansando en paz.

I am the eldest grandchild, daughter of Jose San Roman Jr. My grandfather was the kindest, most hard working person. If he was ill or tired, he never demonstrated that to anyone. He took care of his family and worked long hours as a farmer to provide for his wife and children. He will always be the one person I admire the most. I will take his work ethic and perseverance and instill those same morals unto my own family. You will never be forgotten and my heart will forever hold you in it. Te amo, y siempre te amare, Apa 💔

I want to thank God for the opportunity of sharing 33 wonderful years as part of this family. I married his Son Armando in 1989 & I was fortunate to witness the life of My Father in Law... What a Grand Man he was! I’ll have to say he was very patient , respectful, humble , Sweet , Caring , Loving & so much more. He always made me & everyone else feel welcomed & accepted , if I was around him always made a conversation or just simply smiled at me. Thank you Father in Law ❤️

When I was growing up they lived in our street and mom and dad were good friends of them.. beautiful people!!.. my last memory I have of him is he asked me for a ride to a funeral he and his wife wanted to attend but he could no longer drive. So I told sure I am by myself. Both my parents were in heaven already. So I picked them up. He had me laughing with his stories and he was so proud of his children. Told stories of mom and dad. I always remember that day.  Both him and his wife gave me comfort that day and I needed it cuz I didn’t like funerals.. rip Mr San Roman you have earned your wings

Hi, this is his granddaughter, Jasmine Marie San Roman, the oldest child of Mario San Roman, his son. Lest start by sharing the first memories with my grandpa, first of all he loved all of us equally, you could feel it.  He was always humble, kind, loving, and a hard working man. A perfect farmer, and rancher.  He was a simple man, that I remember loved taking me on big tractor rides when I was little through the Cotten fields, watching novellas with me, praying with me, and loved playing with the dogs with me. I remembered him letting me play on his piano, and I didn’t know how to play, and he never complained, and I was horrible, but from there I learned, and found the instrument that I was passionate about. I remember when he lost his arm in a tractor, and he was so strong about it, and didn’t let that bother him, he never complained. He was a strong man, one of the strongest men, I know. I can never recall him ever getting mad, he was always blissful, even in sickness he would giggle about something, and say I love you every chance he got. I could feel how proud he was of me, just by his stare, and smiles. I remember he always wanted a simple birthday, either Luby’s, or whataburger. Growing up, I remember him coming to all my dance recitals, sea world trips, sports games, and looking up I would always see him proud and cheering in the crowd with a smile on his face, next to my grandma. I remember him sneaking me out of the house when I was little to take me to McDonald’s, and getting me and my siblings happy meals. He has always been a man of few words, but EVERYTImE he talked, it was always words of kindness, and love towards me. I remember him dancing at my quince with me, and having fun. I wish he could have made it to my wedding, because I know he would have loved it. Not seeing him there when I get married, is going to be the hardest thing for me. The last memory is the moment of seeing him in the hospital with a smile, and him saying I love you Mija. 

Apa, mi primer Amor. Como te extrañare. El hombre más noble, más bueno, más fuerte que he conocido en toda mi vida.. Vuela mi padre, Ayi me esperas como nos prometimos. Te adoro y te mando besos y abrazos hasta el cielo. I love you Daddy!

Dad I will forever miss you!!! You were always an inspiration of how a father , husband and friend should be. You never disciplined with anger only with advice , you always listened and looked at me with the look that everything would be ok. All your actions always showed mom how much you loved her. To your fiends your word was always as good as gold there was never a need to put n writing . When a God is next to you now and I know so in the way you lived life . Love you always Dad one day will be together again . 

My deepest sympathy for the San Roman family  may God gives each family members the comfort during this difficult time of sorrow. I'll keep you all in my prayers 🙏. May he rest in peace.
