

Juanita V. Flores, age 77, of Edinburg, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 9, 2025. Born in Rotan, TX, Juanita’s life was marked by love, strength, and unwavering faith. Her generous heart and warm spirit left a lasting impact on everyone she met.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, †Juan Flores; her parents, †Juan and †Abigail Villanueva; and her brothers: †Juan Villanueva, †Joaquin Villanueva, and †Joe Villanueva.
Juanita is survived by her loving son, Jorge Flores, daughter-in-law Jennifer Flores, and her devoted siblings: Mary Villanueva, Rosa Rodriguez (†Mario Rodriguez), Julia Garcia (Amador Garcia), Abigail Sandoval (Daniel Sandoval), Francisco Villanueva (Alicia Villanueva), and Antonio Villanueva.
Juanita loved her family deeply, and nothing brought her more joy than having everyone together at once. She was a peacemaker, and a true example of God’s unconditional love.
She was a faithful member of El Grupo Oración from Holy Family Church in Edinburg, Texas, and had a beautiful, lifelong relationship with God that guided her with peace and grace through every chapter of life.
Juanita also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom loved her dearly and will miss her deeply. A special thank you is extended to Father Edgardo Diaz for his spiritual guidance and presence during this time.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Mangi and Dr. Candanoza for their compassionate care and the teams at South Texas Health System and Rio Grande Regional Hospitals. They also wish to honor the memory of †Dr. Oladayo Sanusi, whose kindness and dedication brought great comfort during Juanita’s journey.
A visitation for Juanita will occur Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 3PM - 9PM with a rosary at 7PM at Funeraria Del Angel Highland, 6705 N. FM . A funeral mass will occur Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 1PM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1302 E Champion St, Edinburg, TX 78539, with a burial to follow at Highland Memorial Park.
Juanita’s legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
