On Friday, April 10, 2026, our beloved Margarita Rodriguez Camacho passed away peacefully at the age of 75 years entering heavenly rest with our Lord Jesus. She was comforted by her family at the La Flores Group Home Care of Harlingen, Texas.
Margarita was born on March 18, 1951 and raised in Mercedes by her parents, Manuel and Luz Rodriguez. She next met Antonio Camacho and later married on July 17, 1977. They lived happily married for 38 years until his passing.
Margarita was named after our paternal grandmother. As our oldest sister, she was known to her siblings, including her friends, as Margie. Margie became our mother's right hand and learned our mother's great cooking skills. She also loved to bake and make delicious cakes for many of our family's birthdays or special occasions. Much like our mother, she had a heart of gold with a giving spirit who expressed her love through her cooking and baking that was deliciously enjoyed by her family and friends. She was a caregiving soul who displayed her affection to everyone including her beloved pets in, a soft loving nature. She enjoyed sewing, reading mysteries & daily devotionals, doing crossword puzzles, and tending to her garden of assorted flowers and plants. She also enjoyed watching old western movies, especially starring her favorite actor, John Wayne and listening to Tejano music, another favorite, being Little Joe Y La Familia.
Margarita, despite her trials and tribulations, always had a positive nature. She was a cancer survivor who continued her life with a ready smile, a light humor, and a hearty laugh. She deeply enjoyed our family gatherings. Margie will be dearly missed by her family, yet she left us with many loving and lasting memories to cherish.
