Oscar L. Gonzalez Jr. passed away leaving behind a legacy shaped by quiet strength, enduring love, and a deep devotion to family. For 53 years, he shared his life with his beloved wife, Mary Rose, building a partnership rooted in loyalty, laughter, and unwavering care.
Oscar was a proud father to Priscilla Rosas (Ruben Rosas), Alicia Gonzalez, and Oscar Gonzalez III. Through them, his life expanded into something even richer—becoming a grandfather to Moriah Garcia, Ruben Oscar Rosas, Jared Rosas, Ryder Rosas, Hailey Rivera, Klarissa Gonzalez, and Kaitlyn Gonzalez. His joy grew yet again with the arrival of his great-grandchildren, Jared Rosas Jr. and Mateo Rosas, who carried forward pieces of his spirit in their smiles and steps.
He is reunited in rest with his beloved grandson, Isaiah Gonzalez, and preceded in passing by his parents, Oscar Gonzalez and Guadalupe Lamar Lozano.
Oscar’s life was not defined by grand gestures, but by the steady, meaningful presence he offered to those he loved. He found happiness in togetherness—the sound of family gathered, the comfort of familiar voices, the quiet pride in watching generations grow. His love was constant and gentle, a foundation his family could always stand on.
Those who knew him will remember a man who gave without asking, who listened without judgment, and who loved without condition. His story lives on in the lives he shaped, the lessons he passed down, and the memories that will be carried forward with tenderness and pride.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel Highland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6705 North Fm 88, Weslaco, Texas 78596, on March 28, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
Though he is no longer here in the ways we wish, his presence lingers—in shared stories, in laughter echoing through family gatherings, and in the enduring bond he helped create. He will be deeply missed, always remembered, and forever loved.
