Manuel “Manny” Ortiz Jr., a beacon of love and light, passed away on October 18, 2024. Born to parents Manuel Ortiz Sr. and Marie Mendiola, Manny graced the world with his compassion, strength, and an infectious joy that touched the hearts of all who knew him.

Manny is survived by his loving mother, Marie Mendiola, and her husband, Alfonso Flores; his devoted father, Manuel Ortiz Sr., and his wife, Lety Ortiz; his cherished grandmother, Licha Pérez; and his beloved service dog, Kaia Ortiz, who stood faithfully by his side, providing love and comfort.

He will forever be remembered by his siblings: Marissa Ortiz, Michael Ortiz, Marlaina Ortiz, and his bonus brother, Paul Booth. Manny was also adored by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and the countless friends he made throughout his life. Manny was a proud godfather to his nephews, Raymond and David, cherishing his role as their Nino with great joy and devotion.

Manny’s kindness and positivity knew no boundaries. He inspired people across the globe with his incredible weight loss journey, offering hope and motivation to others who faced similar challenges. Manny also shared a deep connection with his gaming community, forming lifelong friendships with those who became like family to him.

Manny’s faith was a source of strength throughout his life, nurtured by the prayers and guidance of his beloved Uncle Raymond. His legacy lives on in the countless memories he created, the lives he touched, and the love he gave so freely. Though his absence leaves an unfillable void, his spirit and the joy he brought to the world will never be forgotten.
