Ruth V. Sandoval

On June 19, 2020 at the age of 93, Ruth Sandoval passed into eternity with her Lord Jesus Christ. There she will meet again with her husband Guadalupe and her daughters Sylvia, Rosie and Bonnie. She will also reunite with her mother Lupe, her father Ezekiel, and her sisters Mary, Anita and Christine. Ruth died while sleeping peacefully in her home alongside her sons Andrew and Peter. Born July 4,1926, she is survived by her brother Edward and her 9 children: Yolie, Sonny, Sandra, Patsy, Kika, Corky, Rick, Peter and Andrew. She is a grandmother to 41 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.

Ruth was married at the age of 19 to Guadalupe Sandoval. They were married 74 years! Together they had 12 children. Ruth was a quiet, soft-spoken lady. She spent all of her life devoted to her family. When Ruth had her 12th child Andrew at the age of 41, she knew in her heart that in her older years, he would be the one to care for her, and he did exactly that as he stood by her side until she took her last breath.

Ruth never drove, but that did not stop her from taking her children to doctors’ appointments or school shopping on the local city bus. In her younger days she enjoyed visiting with her sisters Anita and Christine for some much needed beers and lots of laughter! She was an example of “the virtuous woman” described in Psalms 31. She loved to cook, clean her home, sew her own curtains and clothing. Even after raising twelve children of her own, Ruth had time for two more babies. She met Vicky whom she treated like a daughter and she took care of Randy and Ritchie while Vicky worked. To them she was “Nana.” She truly loved the two boys. By the time the third baby Cameron came, Ruth grew tired as she was aging and could no longer care for the boys whom she loved dearly. For entertainment she enjoyed watching soap operas and a Sunday drive with her husband. She was a simple lady who did not need much to make her happy.

Ruth was esteemed and loved deeply by her children. She truly was an example of beauty and poise. She will be missed dearly by all who love her, but we rest knowing that we will be with her again in eternity.
