Sonia Alicia Martinez

Sonia Alicia Martinez was born on March 29, 1995 in West Covina, California to Freddy David Martinez and Michelle Ramirez Padilla, and entered into rest on July 23, 2016. Though she was born in California, Sonia spent most of her life living in Rowlett, Texas where she was raised.

A woman dedicated to fellowship, Sonia was known to participate actively in her church. She was baptized in the Moravian Church of Downey in California, and became a youth leader at the First Christian Church in Garland, Texas. She graduated from Rowlett High School with a bright future ahead of her and plans to eventually attend college.

Sonia loved to joke with her friends, she loved to sing and anyone that came into her life knew she was something very special. She touched the lives and hearts of many people with her warmth, with her contagious smile and great attitude. She was known for just being Sonia. Her family describes her as full of life, always smiling, loving and very smart. Sonia also enjoyed taking photographs everywhere she went to capture all of life’s precious moments.

Sonia was greeted in Heaven by her Fraternal Grandfather Julio C. Martinez and her Maternal Grandmother Melinda Wilson.

Her life will continue to be remembered and celebrated by her parents Freddy David Martinez and Michelle Ramirez Padilla; her siblings Stephanie Marie De la Torre, Erika Martinez, and Freddy David Martinez Jr.; her Fraternal Grandmother Erlinda Martinez; and many uncles, aunts and cousins whom all were blessed to be a part of her life.
