

Teresa was born on April 17, 1947, to Amada Barragan and Jesus Marquez in Guadalajara, Mexico. She had two siblings, Juan Jose Barragan, who passed away in 2008 and Laura Marquez, who passed away in 2010.
Teresa, was a strong, loving and resilient mother, grandmother, great-grand mother, and aunt. She is survived by her daughters, Maria and Guillermina; sons, Roman and Sergio; granddaughters, Margarita, Breanna, Teresa, Angelina and Natalia; grandsons, Ricardo, Eduardo, Bryan, Christian, Steven, and Roman Jr.; great-grand daughters; Roxanne, Marilyn, and Valentina; great-grand sons, Giovanni, Isaac, Alessio, Micheal, Peter, Luke, Julian, and Leo; nieces, Luisa, Laurita, and Connie; nephews, Hector, Roger and Julio.
If you knew Teresa, you knew that her family meant the world to her. She worked tirelessly in her life to provide all that she could in order for her family to thrive, even if caused personal and emotional struggle. She knew that as a minority in this country, she had to rise above obstacles, turmoil, and socio-economic struggles. Teresa used the fruits of her labor to create a pathway for her family to exceed life’s expectations.
In her later years, Teresa made some life changes in order to learn from her past, and to show her family how to be a resilient Mexican-American. She made it a point to create stronger bonds with many of her grand children and great-grand children as she knew that life was brief and tender.
Teresa will be greatly missed. Her family is at peace knowing that she is no longer in pain and that her children were surround around her in the last moments of her life.
Memorial Services for Teresa Marquez Barragan will be held on May 12, 2023 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Funeraria Del Angel, 2333 W. Merced Ave. West Covina, CA 91790.
