Audrey J. Mager, 89, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Fleur Heights Care Center in Des Moines. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2016 at McLaren's Chapel with a funeral service at 11 a.m. Inurnment will take place at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Audrey was born March 29, 1927 in Blue Island, IL to Austin Clifford and Evelyn Jane Beecher (McLaughlin). In her late teens she worked for the Rock Island Railroad as a clerk, and then on November 5, 1949, she married Norman Mager in Blue Island, IL. She was a homemaker and housewife for many years, and enjoyed ceramics, baking and traveling with her husband. Audrey also was a long time member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Audrey is survived by three sons, Scott (Blanca) of Kenner, LA, Brian (Gloria) of Murphysboro, IL, and Lance (Linda) of Cedar Rapids, IA; grandchildren, Karl (Marsha) Mager of FL, Gretchen Mager of Murphysboro, IL, Heather (Aaron) Moore of Troy, IL, Greg Mager of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Eric (Amanda) Mager of Cedar Rapids, IA; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Sebastian, Riley, Emma, and Kaden. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
