Urbandale
Brandon Thoreson, 24, passed away Friday, May 21, 2010. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lutheran Church of Hope with burial at Resthaven Cemetery.
Brandon was born in Des Moines and was a lifelong resident. He was a 2004 graduate of Valley High School, attended Iowa State University, and then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in August of 2009. He was a member of Lutheran Church of Hope.
Brandon is survived by his parents, Harold and Diane Thoreson of Urbandale; sister, Jessica (Ben) Bruening of West Des Moines; brother, Matt (Ashley) Thoreson of Bickenbach, Germany; niece and nephew, Magnus and Lena Bruening; grandfather, Ralph Thoreson; and fiancée, Cherish Ferrell of Hilmar, CA. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Vernel and Sylvina Satre, and paternal grandmother, Verna Thoreson.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Thursday at Lutheran Church of Hope. Memorial contributions may be given to Riverside Lutheran Bible Camp or the Animal Rescue League.
