Claude V. Wiese, 86, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo, IA. A visitation will precede the graveside service in the cemetery mausoleum from 1 p.m. until service time.
Claude was born on July 28, 1923 in New Hartford, Iowa the son of Gus and Edith (Watson) Wiese. He married Eleanor Dilley on November 6, 1954. Claude was a WWII U.S. Army veteran. He lived and worked in Waterloo until moving to West Des Moines 34 years ago. He was employed by SYSCO until retiring in 1986. Claude enjoyed traveling with his family and friends.
Survivors include his two children, Barbara (Terry) Deuel of West Jordan, UT and Robert (Randi) Wiese of West Des Moines; three grandchildren, Tarah and Dawn Deuel of West Jordan, UT and Chris Wiese of West Des Moines; and a special friend, Leanna Barber of Ankeny. Claude was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor and brother, Homer Wiese.
Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7 pm Friday at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines. Memorial contributions may be given to Mercy Hospice.
