Edna Richardson, 87, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Fountain West Health Center in West Des Moines. A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Covenant Presbyterian Church in West Des Moines followed by lunch and story sharing.
Edna was born September 21, 1927 in Marshalltown, Iowa to John and Minnie (Hockaday) Hauser. She married the love of her life and high school sweetheart Clark E. Richardson October 1, 1949, after going together for 8 years. Edna worked as a telephone operator in the “number please” days in Marshalltown and Ames, a “Sandwich Lady” with the West Des Moines public schools, Hallmark Stores in MI and West Des Moines and the Amana General Store in West Des Moines. She was active at Covenant Presbyterian Church in West Des Moines and as a Camp Fire leader. Edna enjoyed serving, praying for those in need and spending time with family and friends.
Edna is survived by her husband, Clark E. Richardson of West Des Moines; daughter, Susan “Sunni” Richardson of Lincoln, NE; son, Mark (Julie) Richardson of Huxley, IA; granddaughter, Sara (David) Perez of Des Moines; great-granddaughter, Vivian Perez; sister-in-law, Ruth Eikhoff of TX; puppy dog, Lizy and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, John and Dorothy Hauser, James (Buck) and Beryl Hauser, Robert (Windy) and Gloria Hauser, Ray and Ginny Hauser, Elmer Hauser and Moody Hauser; infant sister, Myrtle Hauser; brothers-in-law, Del and Muriel Richardson and Art Eikhoff and four nephews.
