Emalou (McLuen) Hoff passed away June 7, 2018 at Prairie Vista Village in Altoona. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines with burial at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at McLaren’s.
Emalou was born in Boone, IA to Maurice and Gladys McLuen. Following graduation from North High School she married Elmer Hoff. Emalou worked as a secretary most of her life at the VA Hospital in Des Moines and at Pioneer. She was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church since she was nine years old, Alumni Member and past president of Delta Chi Chapter of Phi Tau Sorority, past member of OES Chapter #89 and the Red Hat Society.
Emalou is survived by her son; grandson, Forest Hoff of Mount Shasta, CA; granddaughter, Ella (Jay) Bowers of Fort Collins, CO; and two great-granddaughters, Hadelyn and Hazel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer.
