

Jonathan William Linnett, 37, died Saturday, February 5, 2022, with his family by his side. A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Kinship Brewing Company in Waukee, Iowa. Jon wanted a celebration of life with beer and good stories!
Jon was born on December 24, 1984 in Houston, TX to Daniel and Edith Linnett. Due to his father’s job, the family moved around the world. They lived in Moscow, Russia and Geneva, Switzerland where Jon graduated high school from the International School of Geneva. After graduating, Jon moved to Durban, South Africa to play professional rugby for the South African Sharks. Then, Jon moved to Waco, TX to start his college education at Baylor University. He graduated with a Bachelors in Political Science and a minor in Business Administration.
In December 2010, Jon married his wife, Lauren and they moved to Houston to start their careers. During that time, Jon devoted a lot of time to the creation and success of the HURT (Houston United Rugby Club) Rugby team. In August of 2018, Jon and Lauren joined the Linnett family restaurant business in Des Moines, Iowa.
His interests included playing with his kids, DC comics, traveling, playing rugby, and Houston sports. Jon loved to spend time with his friends and enjoyed always having upcoming plans to see them.
Jonathan is survived by his wife, Lauren Linnett and his children, Grace, Luke and Jack; mother, Edith Linnett; sister, Catherine Annicchiarico; two brothers, Daniel Linnett and Stephen Linnett and their spouses; as well as many nieces and nephew and multitude of friends. Jonathan was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Linnett and his grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bennett’s Bears (a foundation Jonathan worked with in Houston) or the Colon Cancer Foundation of Iowa.
