Joseph Lee Burch, Jr., 44, died at his home on Saturday, April 16, 2016. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in West Des Moines with burial at St. John’s Cemetery in Cumming, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines followed by a rosary at 6 p.m.
Joseph was born in Des Moines, Iowa on August 27, 1971 to Joseph L. and Margaret “Rusty” (Smalley) Burch now of West Des Moines.
Joe Jr. is survived by his daughter, Marie Rose Burch; son, Joseph Lee Burch III; and their mother, Hilary L. (Shelton) Burch; his parents; brothers, Matthew A. Burch, Lawrence T. (Diana) Burch, Joshua D. (Jessamy) Burch, Phillip E. Burch. He is also survived by three nephews and two nieces; his godmother, Sharon Burch of Des Moines; and fiancée, Jennifer Auten of Urbandale. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen; brother, Patrick; and godfather, Bernard James Burch, Jr.
