Kathleen Davoren, 61, passed away Friday, March 25, 2011 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A Memorial Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at McLaren’s Chapel with a Prayer Service at 6:45 p.m.
Kathleen was born May 22, 1949 in Oakland, CA, raised in Chicago and lived most of her life in West Des Moines. She married Charles Davoren on June 7, 1970. Kathleen was a 1972 graduate of Drake University Pharmacy School and received her law degree from Drake in 1988. She had her CPCU designation, was a Registered Pharmacist and an Iowa Bar Association member. She loved to travel.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, Charles; three brothers, Theodore R. (Susan D.) Tenczar, Jr. of Plano, TX, Dr. Alan J. Tenczar of Des Plaines, IL and Gregory M. (Lynn) Tenczar of McKinney, TX; step-mother, Mrs. Marion Tenczar of Des Plaines, IL and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Theodore R. Tenczar, Sr. and Jean Anne (Scymczak) Tenczar.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Lymphoma Leukemia Society.
A special thanks to all of Kathleen’s co-workers at Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Company in Algona, IA and the nurses and aides of the Powell 3 Unit at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
