Kurt W. Quade

Kurt William Quade, 72, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 30, 1952, in the Panama Canal Zone and raised in West Des Moines, Iowa, Kurt lived a life marked by dedication, love, and quiet strength.

A proud graduate of Valley High School in West Des Moines and Iowa State University in Ames, Kurt built a successful career rooted in integrity and leadership. He spent 12 years with Pella Windows before dedicating over three decades to Weinig, Inc., where he served as a respected sales leader until his retirement. He was a wonderful mentor to his colleagues and a steadfast protector of all who knew him.

Kurt was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Derwood and Dorothy Quade; his cherished daughter, Stacie Daughenbaugh; and his precious granddaughter, Charleston Knox.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Cathy Quade; his loving daughters, Leslie Quade and Jennifer Quade Knox (Jason); his brother, Mark Quade (Kathy), his uncle Steve Quade and aunt Rita Quade and his treasured grandchildren: Emily Daughenbaugh, Joseph Daughenbaugh, Matthew Zimprich, Abigail Zimprich, Jackson Zimprich, Wyatt Knox, and Holden Knox; and his partner in crime, cousin Robert Locke (Susan).

Kurt will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family, his quiet wisdom, and the kindness he extended to all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he loved and inspired.

Funeral services will take place at 12:00 PM, Saturday, June 28, 2025 at McLarens Resthaven Chapel, West Des Moines, IA with visitation from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery.
