Lee A. McQuiston, 87, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Grand View Lutheran Church, East 13th and Hull with burial at Resthaven Cemetery.
Lee was born June 16, 1926 in Des Moines, Iowa to Clarence and Elva (Anderson) McQuiston. He was a purchasing agent for US Homes and Payless Cashways. Lee was a U.S. Navy Veteran during WWII, a Mason and a member of Grand View Lutheran Church. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, family gatherings, soap box derby cars and was active with the church council and various committees.
Lee is survived by his two daughters, Kim (Steve) Lackershire of Des Moines and Patsy (Steve) Bailey of Boise, ID; two sons, Michael (Julia) McQuiston of Urbandale and Larry (Colleen) McQuiston of Van Meter; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty and brother, Jim.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines. Memorials may be made to Northwest Senior Center, 5110 Franklin.
