Marilyn Moody Pecaut

Marilyn Anne Murray Moody Pecaut, 85, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 in West Des Moines. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2016 at Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines with burial at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Marilyn was born August 8, 1930 to John and Elizabeth Howell Murray in Chicago, Illinois. Most recently she worked as the preschool director at the West Des Moines United Methodist Church. Marilyn was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother who was affectionately called “Nana” by her grandchildren. Marilyn was always supportive and loved spending time with her family. She was a child at heart.

Marilyn is survived by her son, John (Cheryl) Moody and their children, Samantha and Jack Moody all of Littleton, CO; daughter, Nancy (Brian) Setchell and their children, Cristi and Nate Setchell all of West Des Moines, and Alli (Matt) Costello and their child, Aiden Costello all of Muscatine.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Russell Moody; and second husband, Richard Pecaut.
