

Matthew, who went by Matt, was born February 19, 1978 to Mark and Margaret Langford. He was born in Le Mars, Iowa where his parents met while in college at Westmar. Matt was their firstborn and the light of their life. He had many talents and gifts and such a big heart and personality. Matt loved playing sports and competing. His favorites were baseball, football and basketball. God also blessed Matt with a great singing voice. He loved singing and doing karaoke and hanging out with friends. Matt graduated from Roosevelt high School in 1996 and from Huron University in South Dakota in 2001, with a degree in teaching. He went on to get a master's degree in special education and was a teacher and coach for 25 years. Matt also played semi pro baseball up until the age of 43 and was always a hardworking and fierce competitor. He was inducted into the Mid-Iowa Baseball Hall of Fame in 2023. His greatest accomplishment in life was becoming a dad to Boston Andrew. Boston you are your dad's pride and joy for eternity, that will never change.
Matt fought hard till the end and walked into heaven peacefully with his love, Bridget, by his side. He touched so many here on Earth in his life. He will be missed so very much. Matt leaves behind his son, Boston; sister, Hannah; nephew, Levi; and parents, Mark and Margaret.
