Mildred L. Taylor, 73, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at her home in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at McLaren’s Chapel with burial at Resthaven Cemetery.
Mildred was born January 8, 1937 in Des Moines, Iowa. She worked at Norwest Bank for 12 years as a Data Entry Specialist. Mildred was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church for the Deaf, President of Ladies Aide and the Des Moines Silent Club. She loved bowling, sewing, cross stitching, her grandchildren and teasing her family and friends.
Mildred is survived by her husband of 54 years Roger Taylor of Des Moines; daughters, Mary (Roger) Eenhuis of Denver, CO, Susan (Steven) MacDonald of North Liberty and Deanna Stanley of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald Houseman of Fort Worth, TX, Clifton Houseman, Jr. of Amarillo, TX, Ronald Houseman of Tampa, FL, Kenneth Houseman and Larry Houseman both of Des Moines and sisters, Irene Whitaker of Cooksville, TN, Katherine Tripp, Delores Lundy and Colleen Foggia all of Des Moines.
Mildred was preceded in death by her father, Clifton Houseman; mother, Mildred Willey; step-father, Melvin Willey; granddaughter, Tara Kay Seubert; grandson, Steve Frank Seubert; brother, Jimmy Houseman and sister, Helen Daniels.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McLaren’s Chapel.
