Nancy Jane Gramlich, 57, passed away Thursday, October 26 at Care Initiatives in Panora, Iowa. Nancy was the youngest child of George and Kay Gramlich and was raised in West Des Moines.
A Special Olympics participant and graduate of Marshalltown High School, she resided in Marshalltown, Iowa City, and Osceola before moving to Panora last year. She loved animals, music, pepperoni pizza, and ice cream. Nancy was a long-time fan of Winnie the Pooh and Betty Boop who collected stuffed animals and music boxes. Her favorite song was “You Are My Sunshine.”
Nancy is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Dick and Janice Gramlich of Panora, IA; her sister and brother-in-law Ann Gramlich and John Akers of Matthews, NC; her nieces, Keri (AJ) Pender of West Des Moines, IA and Becky (Chad) Vandermark of Waukee, IA and their families as well as her aunt, uncle and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and a number of special friends who were important in her early life.
The family will gather to celebrate Nancy’s life privately at a later date.
