

Patricia "Pat" Taylor, 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 1, 2025. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Des Moines. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery at a later date.
Pat was born on July 7, 1931, in West Bend, Iowa to George and Alice Jergens. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her life was beautifully defined by her unwavering love for family, faith, and community. Pat met and married Ronald Taylor in Algona, Iowa and later moved to Clive, Iowa where they resided for 57 years. They had five children: Mike, Wayne, Allen, Carri, and Debra. After raising her children, Pat worked at Target in the customer service department for over 15 years. A lifelong member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Pat generously volunteered her time and talents. Her kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
She leaves behind her sister, Joan Barie; children, Mike Kelly, Wayne (Connie) Taylor, Allen (Margie) Taylor, Carri Beck, and Debra Anderson; grandchildren, Sean (Liz) Kelly, Beth (Mark) McKnight, Kathryn (Daniel) Tysinger, Melanie Bates, Monty (Nancy) Taylor, Kyle Taylor, Tracy Taylor, Josh (Cristina) Beck, Sarah (Carley) Beck, Aaron (Amber) Anderson, and Alex Anderson. As a proud great-grandmother, her love extended to Vale Kelly, Elin Kelly, Nora Kelly, Astrid Tysinger, Zelda Tysinger, Amanda (Jacob) Jazwinski, Ally Bates, Ashley Bates, Kelsey Taylor, Carson Taylor, Landon Beck, Kaylee Beck, Camarin Anderson, Tobias Anderson, and Iain Anderson. She also celebrated her great-great-grandchildren, Maddy Baker and Oliver Jazwinski. Pat was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, service, and devotion will continue to inspire those who carry her memory forward.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Taylor; parents, George and Alice Jergens; brothers, George, Jim, and Jerry Jergens; and sisters, Mary Sarchet and Nina Steinman.
