Patricia “Patty” Daire Wagner, of West Des Moines, IA, passed away peacefully with her granddaughter by her side on November 4, 2025. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2025 with a funeral at 2 p.m. at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel in West Des Moines. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
Patty was born on March 14, 1933 in East Liverpool, Ohio. After graduating from Weir High School, Patty began her career at Weirton Steel before later becoming a bank teller, a position she enjoyed until her retirement in 2003. Her most important roles were being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
On April 4, 1959, Patty was united in marriage to the love of her life, Ralph Merle Wagner. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Patty was known for her kind heart, lively spirit, and devotion to her family and friends. She found joy in bowling, playing bridge, dancing, and spending time with her loved ones.
Patty is survived by her granddaughter, Stephanie Vance of Waukee; grandsons, Nick (Patricia) Vance of Munich, Germany; and Jake (Haley) Vance; great grandchildren, Peter and Alice of Waukee; daughter-in-law, Sharon Vance of Clive; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Wagner; daughter, Melanie Vance; son-in-law, Bob Vance; father, Samuel Rees; and sister, Iris Rees.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Croix Hospice in Patty’s honor. Patty’s warmth, laughter, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
