Phillip R. Roush, 86, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019 in Des Moines. A celebration of life visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2019 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines.
Phill was born July 30, 1933 to Jonas and Vesta (Chase) Roush in Indianola. He graduated in 1951 from Indianola High School and married Helen Beeman on May 30, 1953. Phill worked at Corwin Cleaners for 25 years and the Marriott Hotel-Downtown for 25 years before his retirement at age 72. He enjoyed fishing, trains, golf, and being with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helen; five daughters, Rhonda Paul, Terri (Bill) Mowery, Mandi (Mark) Gregory, Brenda (Rick) Erickson, and Elizabeth Roush; five grandchildren, Julianne Gregory, Michael Mowery, Paul Gregory, Eric (Amber) Erickson, and Kari (Bill) Dent; five great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Phill is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Helen (Gene) Johnson; brother, Richard Roush; son-in-law, Jerry Paul; and in-laws, Glen and Blanche Beeman.
