Randall Wickey passed away May 29, 2025. Per Randall’s request no services are planned and a private family burial will be held at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines on June 4, 2025.
Randy was born to Ralph and Mary Wickey June 29, 1934 in Muscatine, Iowa. He attended East Waterloo schools and graduated from West Waterloo High School in 1952. Randy then attended the State University of Iowa, receiving a BA degree in 1956 and a DDS in 1960. He spent the next two years as a Navy dentist at the El Toro Marine Air Station, California and the next thirty years in private dental practice in Santa Ana, California, retiring in 1993 and moving to Iowa.
Randy married Karen McCoy December 22, 1956. They celebrated their 68th anniversary in December 2024. Randy and Karen had two children Gregory Wickey, MD (Collette) and Debra Loya. Grandchildren Michael Wickey (Trish), Eric Wickey, Bryan Loya (Rachael), Breanna Corley (Matt), Alyssa Grissom, and 7 great grandchildren.
Despite suffering with Parkinson's Disease for over 30 years, Randy enjoyed playing trombone in community bands, spending time with family, and participating in retirement community and church activities.
