Ruth Louise Lawson, of Urbandale, passed away at Bishop Drumm on December 10, 2021. Ruth was born in Stockton, IL to Gustav and Anna Gutzmer on May 13, 1925. She graduated from Stockton High School. Ruth married Kenneth Karl Lawson on October 4, 1963. The family relocated to Urbandale, where Kenneth worked for the US Postal Service and Ruth worked in the Deli at Hy-Vee. She had a passion for baking with her granddaughters. Ruth was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 57 years, Kenneth. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Rick Fallis, Mark (Mindy) Lawson and Bob (Heidi) Lawson; and grandchildren, Kyndra, Tazshma, Amara, Maia, and Kaili.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, December 28 at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel in West Des Moines. Visitation will begin at 10 am until service time on Tuesday morning. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery.
