Very sad to read about rob which is how I greeted him.Met him many years ago at the y. He always greeted me with a huge smile and hi greg. Never knew his first or last name until I saw his.picture in the paper but I felt like he was a good friend just by his friendly greeting and smile. It seems like only yesterday I saw him at the y but in view of his illness I am sure it has been a long time. again very sad. Greg Brown

I just received the very sad news of Rob's passing - and I am shocked...We worked together for many years during my interior design career. He was a wonderful person, knowledgeable, with a great sense of humor. I am so very sorry for your loss, and I hope that the memories you carry with you will ease your sorrow over time.

I have known Rob since 1991 and he was a dedicated person, work and personal.  He was fun to be with and he enjoyed life with all of it's opportunities.  These past few months he was inspiring to me and led by example even with what faced him.  My deepest sympathies for your loss and please know he made a difference in a lot of people's lives. My condolences and prayers for eventual peace in the loss of Rob to his family. I first met Rob in the late 90s through work. He was a kind, funny, good-hearted, and genuine person who inspired me every time I had the chance to see him.  He will be sorely missed.

While the Sales Director at Sheppard's Business Interiors in the 90's, I had the pleasure of working with Rob.   We regularly traveled to Grand Rapids on the Steelcase jet with Sheppard's team members, Rob and clients.   These trips were just like Rob – the perfect combination of work and play.   When our sales team had a project and needed help to close it with pricing or a creative approach, Rob was there for us.   Fun-loving, upbeat, kind, and a consummate professional.   He was quite a guy and quite a character.   We Omaha furniture “geeks” will raise our glasses and toast Rob.  He won't be forgotten.  Guys like him don't grace our lives often enough.   My sympathies to Char and the family.

To Rob's family - you are in my thoughts and prayers.  I was introduced to Rob several years ago when I started at Sheppard's Business Interiors in Omaha.  He was always so helpful and friendly.  The last time I saw him he greeted me with a smile and was so upbeat.  He will be missed by so many.
