Anne Ruth Baggs passed away at home with family at her side, on June 4, 2018, concluding 91 years of a well-lived life. The youngest of the four children of Katharine (Harrigan) and Joseph E. Baggs, Ruth was born in Quincy, MA and graduated Milton High School in 1944. She attended Simmons College and graduated with a degree in business and Spanish in 1948.
Ruth had a distinguished career working for the Foreign Service in Barcelona, which began a life-long affection for Spain and Spanish culture. Upon her return stateside, she worked as the Executive Assistant to the director of the Federal Aviation Agency in Washington, D.C.
Ruth held a special place in her heart for Cape Cod, where she retired to Harwich in 1985. Never idle, she worked for several years as the secretary for the Forestry Camp/Homeward Bound program run by the Massachusetts Department of Youth Services in Nickerson State Park.
Faith was a cornerstone of Ruth’s life. As a parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, she attended Mass daily and was active in the parish community.

She also is the much-loved grandaunt to Brigid and Nicole Wall; Katy, Jack and Emily Bergen; Joseph, Rachel, Talia and Anthony Viera; Kayla and Matt Baggs. She is sister-in-law to Jean Baggs.
