Dorothy "Dot" A. Rowe

Dorothy A. Rowe of Harwich MA formerly a Hingham resident, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2016 at the age of 98. Wife of the late Gordon P. Rowe Jr., Dorothy is survived by her daughter Martha Fairhurst and her husband Russell Fairhurst Sr. of Hingham, her granddaughter Sonya Fairhurst of Hingham and grandson Russell Fairhurst and his wife Kimberly of Reston VA, her great-grandchildren Brett, Eva, Emma and Alana Hoxie, Samuel and Kenley Fairhurst.

Dot retired from Hingham Public School, she had a long career as a teacher, principal, and supervisor of guidance. As a loyal member of Delta Kappa Gamma, she wanted to support education worldwide. When Dot retired to Harwich she became an active member of the community volunteering her time to many local organizations the Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary, the P.E.O and The First Congregational Church of Harwich. She enjoyed recreational activities on the Cape as a member of the Cranberry Valley Golf Nine hole Golf Association, the Mondanite Club and loved photographing the events and members of these groups and organizations that she was affiliated with. Dot had a love for animals and gave to several organizations to help prevent animal cruelty and encouraged pet adoption.

A memorial service will be held for friends and family on Saturday May 21 at 2:00pm at The First Congregational Church of Harwich 697 Main St Harwich. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests a memorial tribute be made to the MSPCA or a charity of your choice.
