

John Gordon Heald, 85, of Harwichport died on Saturday, March 18, 2017. Born and raised in Boston, MA by the late Gordon and Gertrude (Watt) Heald, John lived in West Roxbury before moving to Harwichport 29 years ago. John attended Jamaica Plain High School and was a graduate of Boston University receiving a degree in Business Administration. He was a proud US Army Veteran of the Korean War. Before his retirement in 1988, John was a marketing executive with the William Carter Company "Carters". He then worked as a course starter for the Dennis Highlands Golf Course where he thoroughly enjoyed his co-workers and the many, many golfers who passed by his starter's shack!
John loved Cape Cod, golfing, gardening, attending the horse-races at the Saratoga Race course, traveling (especially to New York City), and classical music. He was also an proud and avid member of Patriots nation. He was a lifelong member of the New York Athletic Club and enjoyed dinner there whenever possible.
John is survived by his son John D. Heald of Harwich, MA; his daughter, Heather Heald of Plymouth, MA; his former wife Shirley L. Brady; his niece Melissa Welch and his adored granddaughter Caroline Heald.
