Calogero was born in New York City in 1942 and passed away on Feb. 4, 2026. He was predeceased by his parents Carlo Germana and Concetta Guarino and infant brother Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Loretta, his sons Carlo (Meredith) and Stephen (Sarah), brothers Eugene (Denise) and Ronald (Linda), cousin Paul Cordone (Jane) and many nieces and nephews. He grew up in Cambria Heights, NY and worked as a cabinet maker in his father’s business. After high school he attended design school, then worked, creating and restoring furniture and artworks with wealthy customers like the Vanderbilts, Rockefellers, and others, and had hilarious stories to share especially concerning the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. He and his wife bred English Springer Spaniels. After moving to Florida in 1983 he used his talents for restoring antique furniture and oil paintings and also started his own business in Palm Beach Country servicing claims for major moving companies. He loved motorcycle riding, shooting at the range, camping, dogs and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Always known as Carl, he absolutely loved that his Italian name Calogero was used in the movie A Bronx Tale. Although always a tough guy, he was also charming, lovable and personable, and he will be greatly missed.
