So many memories and so much love , Dan was one of the best for all of us at MCCDC.  Our last chat with him was a sunny Sunday just before his departure to the Sunshine State.   Good bye Love, we will see you over yonder - soon.    Jerry and Bob

Dan was a very dear friend that I met a while after he joined MCC-DC.  He was a sweet kind man that was dedicated to his faith and would do anything for his church.  He donated of his time and donated things to the church as well as working for the church.   We worked closely together when I was on the BoD as Vice-Treasurer, Treasurer and when I was Coordinator of the Sound Board Ministry.  After he met the love of his life, Lemoria, we remained close friends.  Ted and I had Dan and Lemoria to dinner and they had us to dinner.  Even after Dan began to have health issues and retired and eventually move to FL with Lemoria, we still stayed in touch over the years.  I was sadden to hear of his passing but know that after many years of this journey, he has earned his wings.  Dan, take your eternal rest and you will always be remembered. Dan was my predecessor as Church Administrator. However, he did work part time as Church Accountant while I was there. I most remember our talks which usually began when I asked him something. There was nothing Dan didn't know when it came to MCCDC administrative procedure, where items were stored. the names of church vendors, and stories about members of the church. These conversations could be just a couple of minutes, but sometimes they would last a half hour when there was juicy news to convey.

Over the years, Dan and Lemoria donated many items to the church. The brass and glass Advent wreath was donated by them. I miss interacting with both of them, but the good memories are priceless. RIP Dan.

Dan was an amazing man on so many levels, and a very dedicated member to MCCDC.  I have many fond memories of him being a genuinely kind and caring person, and I always looked forward to seeing him at church.  One memory that stands out is when he visited and comforted me on the day my life-partner of 26 years died after having several strokes and open heart surgery.  Dan  subsequently provided me with a tape of the funeral which he filmed, and Lemoria was one of the wonderful soloist at my beloved partner's funeral.  GOD bless you Dan, and RIP my friend.

Oh my, some of my best memories of Dan were when he was MCCDC’s office manager and bookkeeper and I was the church’s Treasurer.  Dan made me look like a financial genius.  He fully deserved Pastor Candace’s ultimate compliment of being faithful as the day is long .   Dan always had all the news that wasn’t printed in the church bulletin.  Well done faithful servant.  All my love to Lemoria.   

Hearing of Dan's passing gave me mixed emotions on Easter morning. I was stunned and felt the loss of someone who was one of the first people I met when joining MCCDC. Yet, when Rev. Dwayne mentioned that Easter was Dan's favorite holiday, I thought that God had an amazing sense of timing. I am sure Dan celebrated with his Savior on Easter - what a glorious moment that must have been. 

I remember when Dan taught me how to count the offering on Sundays. He was very detail-oriented and had an exact idea how things had to be done. As I tend to have similar traits, I did not mind that at all and somehow connected with him on that level.

I also remember the wonderful occasions when Lemoria joined us in service and sang so beautifully. I missed that when Dan and Lemoria moved away but it is a sweet memory I still carry in my heart. Lemoria, I am sending you a virtual hug! I know that you will be re-united for eternity with your loved one some day.

Dan had a kind gentle spirit that's becoming rare. When I first met him, I was still feeling the loss of my late partner. He seemed to know just what I needed. We missed you when you moved away. Now we await the first reserection   to be reunited again. God bless and comfort you Lemoria.

Dan...Dan. He was amazing, dedicated,  and devoted to serving. He consistently gave his whole heart to service. When he and Lemoria moved from DC I missed seeing him and poking fun with him. He has his wings and I know he is finally resting. Well done, good and faithful servant! Well done.
