My sincere condolences go out to the McLaughlin Family during this difficult time. May God provide the strength and comfort needed to endure; Jeremiah 29: 11, 12. 

Ed and I go back too many years when I was a young pup in Detroit and he was SM at KGO......we went through our broadcasting careers at ABC ending up in NY...I was head of the FM stations and Ed ran the networks.......
He made living in NY almost worthwhile......
Ed was a gentleman always...and always lent out a hand to those in the company who needed guidance.

While I never had the pleasure of meeting Ed, as a former fellow broadcaster, I can say with confidence he must have been a true visionary in the industry, for he is the man responsible for bringing one of the pure champion of the people talents to talk radio. After hearing the extended, stirring tribute Rush Limbaugh gave to Mr. McLaughlin on his radio broadcast this afternoon, I cannot help but feel a connection to Ed. 
Ed's voice is now silent but his commitment to entertain and educate America lives on through Rush.
My sincere condolences go out to Ed's family and friends who knew him well.  Blessed repose.

A life very well lived, Ed.  Well done, rest in peace.

I went to St Edward's 9AM Mass in Palm Beach today.  Something I don't do as often as I should.  But I had to pray for Ed.  He was so good and kind to me over the years, and always made time to talk to me.  Truly a giant in the radio industry.

Today I am sad. One of my hero's had passed from this life. Ed was a man's man and always had time to give a helping hand. Especially to hillbilly's like me. I owe him much and will cherish the memories which will never fade away.  Thanks Ed. May God continue to bless Pat and your family.
