Obituary of Gordon Vincent Bell
Gordon Vincent Bell March 3, 1942 – January 16, 2022 West Palm Beach Florida On Sunday, January 16, 2022, Gordon Vincent Bell went to his eternal heavenly home after a long and courageous battle of lung cancer. Gordon was born on March 3, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland. Gordon was a Graduate of Polytechnic High School, Class of 1959. Following Graduation, Gordon enlisted into the United States Navy and served his Country as a MM3 on Aircraft Carrier USS Saratoga, CVA-60. Following an honorable discharge from the Navy, Gordon met, fell in love and married his soul mate, Bernadine Rose Spielman. Gordon and Bernadine enjoyed a long and loving marriage together for 40 years. In Maryland, Gordon was employed at Local #37 Operating Engineers, where he helped construct the Washington DC Metro along with various other projects in the Baltimore/DC corridor. Gordon & Bernadine eventually relocated to Florida, back to the sunshine and beaches that Bernadine loved. Gordon worked for Ranger Construction as a heavy equipment operator and then both were employed at the Palm Beach County School Board. Gordon was a very skilled Master Carpenter. Gordon put those carpentry skills to work on various home improvement projects including restoring his Daughter’s Doll House. Gordon enjoyed various hobbies, such as building award winning scale Military models, and constructing and displaying Lego sets, particularly the high-end complex Technic sets. He was an avid fan of the Baltimore Colts Football Team and later the Baltimore Ravens. Gordon also appreciated music and his favorites were Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash, with a healthy bit of Elvis and Credence Clearwater Revival thrown in. Bernadine predeceased Gordon following her battle with Pancreatic Cancer in 2005. In addition to his wife, Gordon is predeceased by his Parents, Francis G. Bell and Anna T. Bell, a Sister, Joan A. Warnken and special Cousin, Vickie DeJulius. Gordon leaves to cherish his memory, loving Daughter, Lorena Karp-Bishop (Gary Bishop), loving Son, Dade W. Bell (Jackie Dolamore), loving Grandson, Jeremiah Karp (Maitane Blas-Karp), Son in law, Bryon Karp (Cecelia Karp), Brother in law, Edgar Warnken (Jo Ann Warnken) and special Cousin, Albert Kline (Melody Kline). Gordon also leaves to cherish his memory Cousins Mike Kline (Christie Kline), Ricky Kline (Amy Kline), Colleen Damone (Victor Damone), Frank Kline, Connie Mucha, Terri Campbell (Mike Campbell) and a host of other Cousins. In addition, Gordon leaves to cherish his memory, his Baltimore Military Modelers Club and IPMS buddies, Ted Paskowski, Joe Prisco, Tom Gannon and Jerry Gardiner. Visitation and Viewing will take place from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM on Sunday, January 23, 2022, with a Service of Remembrance and Burial to follow at 3:30 PM.
