Kenneth A. Hamberg passed away peacefully on August 3rd, 2013. Although the end of his days came too soon at age 62, he lived fully and was loved by all who knew him. Originally from Long Island, Ken earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. Ken also holds a Diplomate from the National Board of Podiatric Examiners and completed his residency at James C. Giuffre Medical in Philadelphia. Ken had a private practice in West Palm Beach, FL, where he served friends, family, and members of the community. Ken's selflessness could be witnessed at any point in the day, always concerned with others with very little regard for his own needs. Ken described himself as: "A quiet fellow who enjoys helping people get off on the right foot." Among his many volunteer and civic activities, Ken served as a member of the Board of Directors at Temple Beth El and past president of the Palm Beach/Martin County Division of the South Florida Chapter of the March of Dimes. He often cared for the elderly and infirm at nursing facilities and at several assisted living locations. Ken was a popular and frequent presenter and guest speaker at geriatric centers and service organizations throughout the Palm Beach area. Ken was never comfortable with sitting with idle hands, and in his free time he enjoyed playing tennis, traveling, gardening, fishing, outdoor and water activities, reading and theater. He is survived by his mother, Suzanne Hamberg, his son, Brian Hamberg, his sister, Helen Romano, and his fiance, Roberta Hillman. The funeral for Ken will be held at Temple Beth El, 2815 N. Flagler Drive, West Palm Beach, FL on Monday at 3:00PM. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at 6:00PM on Monday, August 5th and Tuesday, August 6th at Roberta and Ken's home, 257 Spoonbill Lane N, Jupiter, FL.
