80 years old, of Singer Island, FL, died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 in Dunedin, FL, after an extended illness. Born in Santa Clara, Cuba, Omar came to the United States in 1959. He joined the U.S. Air Force and after his discharge, met and married his wife of 54 years, Juana Leon, in Los Angeles, CA. In 1972, they moved to the Palm Beaches and in 1977 he opened his accounting firm, Omar del Rio, CPA.
He is survived by his wife, Juana del Rio of Singer Island, FL; his sons, Omar del Rio of Miami, FL, Oscar del Rio of Palm Harbor, FL and Jorge del Rio of Luxembourg; his sister, Gina Perez of Los Angeles, CA; and 4 grandchildren, Oscar, Jack, Antonio and Catherine.
Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 5:00 to 9:00 PM on Friday, November 11, 2016 at the QUATTLEBAUM FUNERAL, CREMATION & EVENT CENTER at HILLCREST, 6411 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33405, with a Wake Service to be held at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 310 N. Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33401. Interment will follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, Royal Palm Beach, FL.
