
WILLIAM ANDERSON MOORE, 86, of West Palm Beach, left this earth to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 14, 2011. Mr. Moore was born in Benton Harbor, MI, on June 23, 1924. He attended schools in Benton Harbor, where he excelled both in academics and athletics, winning championships in track and field and football. Mr. Moore joined the Air Force after high school and served honorably during World War II. Having played piano since a young age, he also was in the U.S. Army Air Force Band. After fulfilling his military service, Mr. Moore attended Oberlin College, where he graduated with a Masters in Music Studies from the Conservatory of Music. In 2006, Mr. Moore survived a devastating house fire, which left him disabled but not dispirited. He leaves behind many mourning friends and family who remember his joyful love of music and his formidable presence at the piano. He is survived by his wife, Lenora (Chappelle); stepdaughter, Antoinette Deal; grandchildren, Timothy Mitchell, Michelle Deal-Zimmerman, Candace Bunch, Francine Greene and Ricardo Toombs; and a host of loving great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 19, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and services will be on Friday, May 20, at 10:00 AM at Shuler's Memorial Chapel, 5301 N. Australian Ave., West Palm Beach.
