It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Beryl, on Friday January 3rd at 1:47 at Lions Gate Hospital with Ken and Paul at her bedside. She will be sadly missed by her devoted husband Ken, son Paul (Angie), granddaughter Kyra, daughter Jane (Wayne), sister Jennifer (Mel), two nephews Andrew (Yuko), Jason (Beckey) and two nieces Maren and Elinor. With Beryl, family always came first and she was very devoted to all of them. Beryl was a kind and generous person who made many friends and acquaintances with her gentle and elegant nature. We will miss her fantastic cooking. She loved to cook, and also liked her crafts. Each year she made birthday and Christmas cards. People would rave about how clever and talented she was. In many cases people have kept the cards for years. Every Friday she would go for a walk with her friend Margaret for two hours, rain or shine. Beryl enjoyed travelling and she especially loved cruises. Another favourite past time was going to the West Vancouver Senior Centre for line dancing, keep fit classes and of course turkey dinner on Thursday evening. Beryl was a very successful office manager for a very large architect company in Vancouver. She also belonged to the Grouse Mountain Quilters Guild, and made quilts for all the family and different charities. She was a beautiful person and those we love don’t go away they walk beside us every day. There will be no service by her request and in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to the Osteoporosis Society. If you hear the music “I Did It My Way”, please, please, think of Beryl.
