Although he has passed, his memory lives on through his family who loved him dearly. His Children, Mariah (Tod), Marcus, His newborn granddaughter Hailey-Rae (Gramps ;)). His two wonderful sisters, Gabriele (Mike), Susan (Ken), and their families. And many more who called Conrad a Friend.
Conrad made his way to Canada with his parents at the age of 4. They were on their way to the US to open a bakery, getting stopped short, because as he liked to put it, “they said the border was closed that day…”. SOOO Canada it was!! His father, Guenter Schwandner, then opened The Venice Bakery, where Conrad worked for many years. Learning about and developing his love of "proper" bread. If you knew him… you know. He always talked about his love for the bakery and the family business that it was.
He was a man with few words, but with a heart bigger than this world. He was an inspiration, a truly selfless man, and a hero to some. He adored his animals, Kins his cat and Mocha his dog, never eating a meal without them at least getting a taste.
Conrad spent many years as a young man traveling the world. From rides in Disney World to watching the scooters go by from a cafe in Italy, he loved to travel. He loved to share laughs and stories over a shot a German schnapps and slice of cheesecake.
Conrad will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Rest Easy my friend, you are in a better place now. We will see you again one day, but until then, we love you.
Deeply missed, but never forgotten, until we meet again, rest easy my friend.
