Passed away on July 29th at Lions Gate Hospital after a stroke on the second of April, and subsequently, a heroic effort to treat the complexities of his condition. He was the son of the late Hugh and Lorna (Dickson) Garven, born in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba on April 11,1950. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Winnipeg (BA) and later followed a career in accounting, serving in the Public Service of Canada until his retirement from Canada Revenue Agency in Vancouver. David was a long-time resident of West Vancouver and valued his family life at home and in his community of Dundarave. He is survived by Jennifer, his beloved wife of 45 years; daughter Pamela; son John; grandchildren, Noah and Kaya; his sister Janice (Halifax) and many dear friends and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Arlene.
A Celebration of Life will take place September 25, 2026.
