Passed away on January 2, 2015 at West Van Care
Centre. Dorothy is survived by one brother, Jack
(Mary) in Scarborough, Ontario, sister-in-law Olive
in Winnipeg, Manitoba as well as several nieces and
nephews. Dorothy was born in Brandon, Manitoba
on December 22, 1920. She taught school for
forty years in Manitoba and B.C. She was active in
women’s curling while in Nelson, B.C. as well
Junior Red Cross and Girl Guides. She served on
the executives of the West Vancouver Teachers’
Association and the North Shore Retired Teachers’
Association. Dorothy inspired her students in
Mathematics and will be fondly remembered by
them and her many colleagues and friends. A
memorial service will be held at West Vancouver
United Church, 2062 Esquimalt Avenue, West
Vancouver, B.C. on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at
2:00p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy’s
name may be made to a charity of your choice.
