I am really going to miss Greg... I had the pleasure of coaching baseball for a few years with Greg. He was funny, demanding, passionate and always trying to teach. We also connected in the tech community where his impact is, in many ways, responsible for the phenomenal success of the BC Tech ecosystem. 

Greg was a good man, and a friend and I am really going to miss him. I know how much he loved his boys and how proud he was of them.

My deepest sympathies on Greg's passing. Greg was a very bright person who was a very proud father. His contribution to the tech community is large, and he will be missed.

Greg was such a kindhearted soul. He had such a way of keeping you laughing! Was able to stay positive even through all the tough times. Such spirit. Did not see each other for many years...but as soon as we did..it would be like we were back in the days of working together,  chatting and laughing over drinks! So many memories of our lunches, dinners and get togethers.  Here is just one of many photos.  Many smiles and laughs were always involved. Will truly miss him. I met Greg and his team "Ohana & Hoa" (family & friends) at the 2019 Walk to End ALS at Garry Point Park, Richmond.  All were wearing bright Hawaiian shirts and leis.  This team was the top walk fundraising team in BC that year. Greg shared with me that he wanted to  support the work of the ALS Society of BC in particular advocacy.  He was a founding member of ALS Action Canada which a patient led group advocating for ALS treatments and research.  Greg's son Aidan, coordinates the Sea to Sky ALS Rally to raise funds for research.  As the saying goes, the apple does not fall far from the tree.  Greg, his family and friends have made a huge contribution supporting others living with, affected by ALS.   Greg's memory and  legacy will continue.

I met Greg (Flea) at UBC when I was in fourth year Mechanical Engineering and he was a second year Mech student.  I immediately liked Greg, he was funny, goofy, kindhearted and caring.  He quickly became the younger brother I never had.

In 1987, the fourth year Mech students did an "educational tour" of California, including a brewery, the Jet Propulsion Lab and of course Disneyland and the beach.  One person had to drop out last minute, and Greg took his place.  It was so wonderful to have him along, he amped up the fun factor and remained goodnatured in the face of all of our teasing.  I have attached a photo of Greg in the hot tub in San Diego, it captures the exuberance and joy in life that most defines him for me.

I was so saddened to learn of his death and to know that he suffered ALS.  I can't imagine the heartbreak his family and close friends are experiencing and send them all my sincere condolences.  I have not seen Greg since shortly after graduating, however, he will always have a special place in my heart.

Greg had an incredible sparkle in his eye and always went out of his way to help out entrepreneurs. I'll miss his ready laugh, his keen business mind and the warmth he shared with our tech community. He gave entrepreneurs new insights, great advice and savvy ways to finance growth. He was a building block of Vancouver's ecosystem.

My love and condolences to his family on the transition of this wonderful soul to the next stop on his journey. He will be greatly missed and made a difference in the world. 

I wish to send my deepest condolences to Greg’s family, I’m so sorry to hear of Greg’s passing.  Greg and I had met at UBC, and were good friends through our twenties.  Everything was more fun when Greg was around!
Though we hadn’t been in touch for decades, Greg gifted me a framed Sierra Club print back then, which hangs over my bed today.  
I would have loved to have attended the service on October 17, but sadly it’s on the same day my daughter and I are hosting a Celebration of Life for her dad, my ex husband.  I’m sure Greg had attended our wedding ❤️


Please accept my family’s deepest condolences on the passing of Greg. I will always remember Greg’s positive approach to life, his entrepreneurial spirit and his enthusiastic embrace of ideas and people. Greg was one of a kind and we will miss him dearly.
