It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Herbert (Bert) McGowan on Saturday, April 28th, 2012. Bert was born on August 13th, 1916 in Saint John, New Brunswick. He grew up in Vancouver. After serving in WWII, Bert joined the Canadian Pacific Police, rising to the rank of Superintendent (Western Division). Bert will be remembered for his strong values, strong faith, and strong sense of humour. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 69 years, Olga. Bert is survived by his daughter Heather (Bob), son David, grandchildren Maegan (Aaron), Patrick (Jill), Jordan (David) and Tim (Sheryl), and seven great grandchildren. He will also be fondly remembered by Gwyneth, Eric and the extended family. Although he will be sorely missed, the family takes comfort in knowing that Bert and Olga are together again.
