Michael, Peter, John and Eric; Rene and I and family send our deepest sympathies on the passing of Aunt Joan. She was a very special person who will be fondly remembered by all of us as someone who was deeply caring and full of life. I know she is in a better place and reunited with Uncle Howard. Stay strong and all our love to you and your families.

Life doesn't always go the way you plan....but there are people in your life that you are blessed to have met and be apart of, for whatever time that was..am so glad I had the honour to have been apart of Joan's family. She was one special Lady.

Diane Farrow and family...I am so saddened to hear about Joan's passing...she was the most delightful lady and had such a great sense of humour...always enjoyed seeing her at reunion parties...I am so sorry Diane.  You will miss her so much....Bunny

Grandmum , your in a better place now and I hope your looking down on dad (Eric) you had lots of great great talents such as knitting which i can still remember when i got my christmas jumper every christmas which were very well knitted ..i always wanted to knit and although you thought me a couple of times i was never quite able to do it ..you were also very good atswimming and golf and hopefully I'll be as good as you were at golf one day .. Grandmum you will be missed by everyone .. RIP

Dear Michael, Peter, John and Eric -I am very saddened to hear that your Mom has died. I knew she had been battling cancer but hoped she would beat it. I am an old friend from our teen years in Oakville and had many good times with both her and your Dad. Please accept my deepest sympathy , Wendy (Auld) Minnes

We will remember both Joan and Howard as the best neighbours ever.  We have memories of many dinners shared and times over on Gabriola. We shared a lot of laughs and realize how hard she worked to keep her family well looked after while moving about in earlier years. I knew Joan through the Greater Vancouver Mining Women's Association and also through the Gleneagles Ladies Golf Club. We often discussed our many moves and talked particularly about the time she spent in Newfoundland which is my home province. She was a kind and gentle lady and will be greatly missed. I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family. May her memories live on in your hearts.
