Peacefully passed Nov 28, 2017 after a long struggle with Dementia. John was born in Edmonton, Alberta, October 26, 1933 and lived there until eventually moving to Vancouver B.C. with his parents and now late brother. John was a single man and devoted son who lived with and cared for his parents until their deaths in the late 1980’s. Some time after his parent’s deaths John met Nona Mari and eventually married Nona in 1994. John once again showed his love and dedication as a devoted husband to Nona for 24 years until her death on Nov 9, 2017. John’s love for Nona was so great that, despite his advanced dementia his heart was broken at Nona’s passing. John’s health quickly declined and amazingly John passed on the same day as Nona’s celebration of life. His dedication and love for Nona so great that he chose to accompany Nona on their next journey that day. John will be missed by his three step sons, Paul, Rick and Rob as well as his sister- in- law Audrey Viken, and nephew Kris. John has requested that no funeral service be held.
