Born to Alice and Edwin Clarke on December 6, 1927 in Manchester, England; Joyce passed away peacefully on November 5, 2015 at the age of 87, at Lions Gate Hospital, North Vancouver. Joyce grew up in England and married Harold Dawes in 1953. They spent many happy times cycling extensively through England before coming to Canada in 1957, and raising a family in West Vancouver. Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Harold, and their children Andrew, Janet (Donovan), Susan (Graham), grandchildren Ross, Scott (Nathalie), Glenn and Brett, as well as nieces and nephews in the U.K. and U.S. Joyce is predeceased by her parents Alice and Edwin Clarke, siblings Sicily, Jim, Alice and Eric. Joyce was a lovely “English Lady”, sweet and funny, who loved her family very much and will be missed by all who knew her. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm Friday November 20th, 2015 at St. Martins Anglican Church, 195 Windsor Rd East, North Vancouver.
