Korneliske Shakour

SHAKOUR, Korneliske (nee Eekma) Corry, as she was known to all, died peacefully on April 22, 2010. Born in Holland in 1928, she lived in Teheran, Iran, and Munich, Germany, before moving to West Vancouver in 1976. She spent the last years of her life in Campbell River. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Hassan Shakour, in 1978. She is survived by her loving children and grandchildren: Robert Shakour and his wife Moira; Marina Shakour Haber and her husband Lenny and their children Celine and Darius; John Shakour and his wife Elise and their children Arielle and Isabella, and Richard Shakour and his wife Karen and their children Jacqueline, Larissa and Rebecca. Corry had a brilliant mind and a fascinating personality that matched her great beauty. She was fluent in 5 languages and was the author of a spiritual book. We will love and miss her forever, her smile, her wisdom and her strength. She will be remembered at 1 PM on April 30th, 2010, at the Hollyburn Funeral Home, 1807 Marine Drive, West Vancouver, BC. Interment to follow at Capilano View Cemetery, West Vancouver, BC Officiating Archdeacon Lou Rivers.
