Lillian Verna Berkey

It is with love and sadness that we announce the

peaceful passing of Lillian Verna Berkey on July 3,

2026, at the age of 92.

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Verna moved to British Columbia in her early twenties, where she built a life centered on family, friendship, and lifelong learning.

She will be remembered for her sharp mind, intellectual curiosity, and love of reading. She enjoyed following the stock and real estate markets, discussing current events, travelling with family and

friends, and watching a wide variety of sports. Her travels to Hawaii, Japan, and Palm Desert brought her great joy and many treasured memories.

Despite chronic illness and pain in her later years, Verna faced life's challenges with quiet strength and resilience, drawing comfort from the support of those closest to her.

Verna was predeceased in 2023 by her loving husband of 67 years, Don Berkey. She is survived by her sister, Peggy (Ian); her family, of whom she was very proud - daughters, Leslie (Richard) and Robin

(Darrell); grandchildren, Cameron (Zoe), Jamie, Taylor (Alex), Sean, and Mitchell; and her great grandsons, Beau and Ryland.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caregivers and healthcare professionals whose compassion brought Verna comfort during her final years.
